Surface Preparation: Ensure floors are structurally sound and fully cured a minimum 28 days. Properly repair concrete and install joint sealants and fillers as necessary. Mechanically profile the floor to medium grit sandpaper texture to remove curing and parting compounds and other surface hardeners and floor coatings. Clean floors of fat, grease and oil. Surfaces must be absolutely dry, if not, ventilate area until all traces of moisture disappear. The adhesion of ArtGrout 705 to previously painted surfaces will only be as good as the adhesion of the previous coating. Sand or scrap off all peeling and loose paint. Gloss finishes must be sanded and tested before receiving ArtGrout 705.
Application: The FlorCrete Stencil Pattern Concrete process is very simple. First the paper or plastic stencil is laid over the existing concrete slab. ArtGrout 705 is mixed with water and sparayed using a texture gun. Different consistencies and air pressure will result in different textures. If a different color grout line is desired, apply a first coat by brushing or spreading with an applicator pad or medium nap roller cover prior to installing the stencil.
- When the surface is dry, the stencil is removed to reveal the chosen pattern. Residual color chips are removed with a mechanical blower. Experienced concrete contractors learn the stencil process very easily and can lay large areas in half the time it takes to lay pavers

- Joints: Control joints shall be cut at pre-determined areas no later that 12 hours after the concrete has been placed or as appropriate for the weather conditions.

FlorCrete surface shall then be sealed with a minimum of 1 coat of Acrylic Clear Seal. Other coatings depending on final use my be applied. Coatings shall be applied in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions, specifications & recommendations. |
