An All-purpose Floor Coating With A Safety Finish

DESCRIPTION :
FlorCrete 705 is a styrene acrylate copolymer that features outstanding performance, non-skid, hiding power, elasticity, waterproofing, and color retention all in one economical product.
The fiber and quartz in FlorCrete 705 reinforces the film and make it wear resistant.

USES :
Designed to be a highly durable, flexible coating system with outstanding resistance to weathering, ultra-violet radiation and water. It is suitable for application over sprayed urethane foam insulation roofs, concrete, wood and asphalt roofs.
FlorCrete 705 can be used in situations where a skidproof, wear resistance surface is required. It may be used on new decks as well as old concrete decks which are damaged or cracked.
FlorCrete 705 is used on basements, patios, porches, balconies, roofs, and swimming pool decks.

ADVANTAGES :

  • Durable.
  • Resists variable weather conditions.
  • Textured surface to the degree required.
  • Available in any color.
  • Beautifies concrete and asphalt surfaces.
  • Slip-resistance safety finish.
  • VOC compliant.
  • Seals concrete surfaces and prevents dusting.
  • Has high elasticity and will bridge any cracks that may develop in the structure movement.
  • Water resistant.

SURFACE PREPARATION :

UNPAINTED CONCRETE : Ensure floors are structurally sound and fully cured for a minimum 28 days. Properly repair concrete and install joint sealants and fillers as necessary. Mechanically profile the floor to medium grit sandpaper texture to remove curing and parting compounds and other surface hardeners and floor coatings. Clean floors of fat, grease and oil. Surfaces must be absolutely dry, if not, ventilate area until all traces of moisture disappear.

PAINTED CONCRETE :
The adhesion of FlorCrete 705 to previously painted surfaces will only be as good as the adhesion of the previous coating. Sand or scrap off all peeling and loose paint. Gloss finishes must be sanded and tested before receiving FlorCrete 705.
The application of FlorCrete 705 may cause some previous coating to lift. Test for compatibility by applying a small amount of FlorCrete 705 to the old paint. Let it dry for 24 hours. Next, press down a piece of masking tape and remove it with an abrupt upward motion. If the paint does not lift from the surface, it can be recoated with FlorCrete 705. If the previous coat does lift, it must be removed by scraping sandblasting, or water blasting.

ASPHALT SURFACE : Rake out all cracks to remove accumulated sand, mud and weeds. Thoroughly hose down the surface to remove sand and sediment. Patch holes and cracks. Scrub oil-soaked areas with strong detergent and hot water, Rinse area thoroughly with clean water, squeegee off excess and allow to dry for 1 to 3 days.

APPLICATION :
Use FlorCrete 705 straight from the container. Apply first coat by brushing or spreading with an applicator pad or medium nap roller cover. Immediately and while FlorCrete 705 is still tacky, broadcast the quartz granulars evenly over the surface and leave the coating to dry for 24 hours. With hard bristle broom, sweep out all loose quartz granulars and apply the second coat of FlorCrete 705 preferably by spraying to a thick coat to embed all the quartz granulars.

COVERAGE :
3 to 5 m2 per Itr. per coat depending on the size of the quartz granulars and the roughness of surface desired.

DRY TIME :
2 hours until tack free ; 18-24 hour between coat, 24 hours for foot traffic ; and 72 hours for a complete cure.

PACKAGING :
19 Itr. Pail.

TIPS FOR APPLICATION :

  • Do not apply FlorCrete 705 at temperatures below 5c.
  • Do not apply FlorCrete 705 when the relative humidity is above 70%.
  • Spread evenly in short windrows.
  • Continue pouring and spreading, overlapping 50% into the wet edge of the previous pass.
  • Allow the first coat to dry thoroughly before applying a second. For the best finish, apply the second coat at a right angwallle to the first.
  • Avoid application of FlorCrete 705 out of direct strong sun, preferable during the cooler hours of the day.
  • Always apply in two coats in order to avoid pinholes.
