Product Name: PAVECRETE DECORATIVE SMOOTH COLORED CONCRETE SYSTEM
PART I - General
Work Description: To provide an average of 10 cms of concrete (or as specified by architect) that shall be surface colored with PaveCrete Color Hardener in the desired color. The surface shall then be trowelled smooth with appropriate tools, then sealed with a coating such as Clear Acrylic Sealer, Epoxy, or Polyeurethane.
PART II - Product
Materials:
Dry Shake Coloring Agent: PaveCrete 200 Color Hardener, as manufactured exclusively for Interactive Developers SARL.
Clear Protective Coating: Acrylic Clear Sealer with UV inhibitors as manufactured for Interactive Developers SARL.
Colors: The color of the PaveCrete color hardener shall be selected by architect. It is recommended that samples be provided to ensure final selection. Color is affected by humidity, water content, trowelling techniques and final coating.
PART III - Execution:
Installation:
1. Concrete mix design shall contain a minimum of 300Kg/cubic Meter of type I, II, and if subjected to salts, type V Portland Cement, depending on soil conditions. Concrete shall have a minimum compressive strength of 2,500 psi after 28 days. Maximum slump shall be 4 inches. Fiber modified concrete is not recommended as the fibers may show on the surface. Expansion joints shall be used as in standard concrete practices.
2. Concrete shall be placed and screeded to the desired grade, and then floated, using standard concrete practices. Steel re-enforcement shall be installed depending on the slab design requirements.
3. Apply an even application of PaveCrete Color Hardener to the concrete surface, using the standard dry-shake method. Product shall be applied in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications. At least two applications shall be required. Float after each application.
4. Once the bleed water evaporates and the surface sheen is minimized, the final trowelling is started. Avoid over trowelling as it will result in “burned” surfaces.
5. Control joints shall be cut at pre-determined areas no later that 12 hours after the concrete has been placed or as appropriate for the weather conditions.
6. Concrete surface shall be water cured for a minimum period of 3 days after which the sealer is installed.
7. PaveCrete surface shall then be sealed with a minimum of 1 coat of Acrylic Clear Seal. Other coatings depending on final use my be applied. Coatings shall be applied in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications & recommendations.
Maintenance:
PaveCrete surfaces are protected by the final coating applied. To minimize wear of the final surface, a periodic application of a waxing agent is recommended. Washing with regular soap and water is sufficient in most applications. Commercial applications should consider an appropriate coating and maintenance system.
